🇬🇭Ghana
Africa's largest gold producer, second cocoa producer, an oil and gas industry, a stable democracy and the headquarters of the African Continental Free Trade Area. Ghana is the easiest entry point into West Africa for an English-speaking investor.
Economic overview
Ghana is one of West Africa's best-governed countries: peaceful transfers of power since 1992, a free press, independent courts and an administration used to foreign investors. Its economy rests on three pillars, gold, cocoa and oil, complemented by diversified agriculture, growing services and a dynamic technology sector in Accra.
The country went through a debt crisis in 2022-2023 and restructured its obligations with IMF support. Growth has resumed, inflation is falling and the cedi has stabilised. Reforms of the gold sector, with the creation of a gold board to formalise flows, are of direct interest to Dubai traders and refiners, the leading destination for Ghanaian gold.
Accra hosts the AfCFTA secretariat, making it a continental diplomatic and commercial centre. The modernised port of Tema serves Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. The UAE is a major trading and financial partner, with direct flights and an active Ghanaian business community in Dubai.

Residential and hotel developments in Airport City, Cantonments, East Legon and along the coast.

Plants with contracted supply through the cocoa board and local processing incentives.

Risks and how we manage them
The cedi lost heavily in 2022. We structure in dollars and follow the IMF programme closely.
The informal artisanal sector carries compliance risks. We work only with licensed, traced players.
Customary titles are complex. Our partner lawyers verify every plot and register leases.
Electricity is expensive. Industrial projects include their own solar generation.

Dubai as your operating base
For a UAE investor, Ghana is best worked from Dubai. The city offers the tools that are often missing on the ground: a Free Zone holding company to carry the stake, banks used to African flows, a recognised international arbitration framework, tax treaties and investment protection agreements, and regular flights to the continent. For an entrepreneur or institution from Ghana, Dubai is symmetrically the gateway to Gulf capital, commodity buyers and Asian industrial partners. ABC Consultancy sits in the middle of that bridge: we know both shores and we speak to both.

Frequently asked questions
Can gold be bought legally in Ghana for Dubai?
Yes, through licensed buyers and the gold board, with export documents and full traceability. That is exactly the kind of chain we structure.
What is the minimum capital for a foreign company?
The GIPC Act requires a minimum capital of 200,000 dollars for a wholly foreign-owned company, 500,000 for trading, with exceptions for free zones.
What is the minimum ticket to invest in Ghana with ABC Consultancy?
There is no fixed threshold: it depends on the sector and the format. An equity stake in a mining project runs into millions of dollars, whereas a trading or real estate operation can start much lower. In the first conversation we tell you honestly whether your budget allows a serious transaction.
How long does a transaction take?
Expect three to six months between the scoping note and signature for a trading or real estate operation, and nine to eighteen months for a agro-industry project requiring approvals, in-depth due diligence and structured financing.
How is ABC Consultancy paid?
Through engagement fees set in the scoping note, possibly completed by a success fee at signing. We never take hidden remuneration from a counterparty: our only loyalty is to you.
Do I need a Dubai company to invest in Ghana?
It is not mandatory, but it is often the best solution: a Free Zone holding carries the stake, benefits from tax treaties and protection agreements, and repatriates dividends within a clear framework. We set it up with you.
